How should you read your ATS checker report?
Read your ATS checker report as a set of findings to verify, not a hiring prediction. Start with missing or incorrect information, then review evidence for the role and improve unclear wording. The score belongs to this checker; it is not an employer’s score, a universal passing threshold, or the chance of an interview.
Separate the report’s different layers
An applicant tracking system (ATS) is software employers use to manage applications. This site provides feedback about your resume rather than access to an employer’s ATS settings. After consent, your PDF and optional job description go to Democruit for AI analysis with Azure AI.

Content findings review the normalized resume information. Job comparison is available when you provide a job description; without one, the report is not a match assessment for a specific opening. Independent local PDF checks use a separate browser text extractor and do not contribute to Democruit’s score.
The original PDF’s fonts, columns, and page geometry are not measured by that content analysis. A warning about visual review can remain even when the content is strong. Open the original PDF to assess the layout.
Read the score label before the number
A report with a description can show resume quality and job match alongside the overall score. A report without one is labeled as resume content feedback. Do not compare reports from different jobs as though they used the same requirements.
“Before requirement penalties” describes the returned job score before those penalties, not a prediction of an employer’s decision. The report does not reveal a universal scoring formula or guarantee that each suggested edit will raise the number.
Open findings and compare their evidence
Expand a detailed check to read why it matters, the assessment or next step, and any quoted evidence. Compare each quotation and its source with your actual resume. A finding can be incomplete or wrong, especially when the available text lacks context.
For job terms, Met, Partial, and Unmet classify evidence rather than simply count appearances. Partial evidence is different from no evidence. A term listed in Skills may need an experience example, while an unmet requirement may describe something you genuinely lack.
Do not add a qualification you do not have to clear a warning. If the claim already appears accurately, check whether extraction lost it or whether the detail needs clearer context. See the fictional sample report for an illustration of the sections.
Fix information before polishing sentences

If local extraction found little readable text, start there. This checker does not provide optical character recognition (OCR) for image-only scans. Export a text-based PDF from your editable document when possible and check whether the key details survive.
Next, correct wrong contact details, dates, or missing roles. Then assess actual required qualifications and relevant evidence. Finally, improve repeated wording, weak bullets, and other smaller clarity issues.
Illustrative review: choose the useful fix
A skills warning says SQL evidence is incomplete; the resume lists SQL only in Skills.
If accurate, add a bullet explaining the SQL query, its output, and who used the result.
This fictional response strengthens truthful evidence. If you have no SQL experience, leave the skill off rather than inventing an example.
Save feedback and continue with care
Your report stays in local storage in this browser until you delete it or clear site data. A results URL does not share the report with another device. Local deletion does not establish deletion by Democruit or Azure AI; review the privacy policy for provider processing information.
“Fix in Democruit” transfers your structured resume and feedback. Saving them requires signup or login and account consent. The free checker does not edit your original PDF; after revising, export and review the final version yourself.
Your next step
Use your ATS checker report to identify questions worth reviewing. Restore missing information, assess truthful role evidence, and improve clarity while keeping the score’s limits in view.
Run the free ATS resume check to review your PDF before applying. For more on choosing and organizing experience bullets, read Democruit’s guide to resume bullet points.

Frequently asked questions
What score do I need to pass ATS?
This checker cannot provide a universal passing score. Use its findings to improve accuracy and clarity rather than treating the number as an employer’s threshold.
Why is a keyword marked Partial?
Partial indicates incomplete evidence in the analysis, rather than merely too few word occurrences. Open the detail and compare it with your real experience before adding context.
Why do local checks disagree with the AI report?
They use different information and methods: local checks inspect extracted PDF text while Democruit reviews normalized content. Compare both with the original document, and remember that local checks do not contribute to Democruit’s score.
